Erin K. Holmes, PhD is an award winning Professor and currently serves as Director of the Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Family Life. Dr. Holmes’ research focuses on fathering, mothering, and the work-family interface. For her research in these areas, Dr. Holmes won the National Council on Family Relations Award for Best Research Article on Men in Families by a New Professional in 2011 and was also a finalist for the international Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research (placing her article in the top seven of 2,500 articles published on work and family in 2012). She has received research, teaching, mentoring, and service awards from the BYU School of Family Life and from the School of Family Life Student Association. She also received the BYU Faculty Women’s Association Teaching Award, and the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences Marjorie Pay Hinckley Associate Professor Award. She has served as associate director of the BYU School of Family Life, Guest Editor of a special issue of the journal Fathering, co-chair of the Theory Construction and Research Methods Workshop at the National Council on Family Relations, and co-chair of the Men in Families Focus Group at the National Council on Family Relations. She has also served on the University Department Chair Coordinating Council, the University Faculty Advisory Council, the Global Women’s Studies Executive Committee, and the editorial boards of Journal of Marriage and Family, Family Relations, and Journal of Family Theory and Review. Dr. Holmes has published over 70 articles and book chapters to date.
